Siem Reap, Cambodia

Cambodia
Last weekend I flew from KL across the Gulf of Thailand to spend a few days in Siem Reap, Cambodia. Cambodia is a small country (about the size of Oklahoma) that is bordered by Thailand, Laos, and Vietnam. Cambodia has a population of about 14 million people with many of them living in Phomn Phen, the largest city.

I knew very little about the fascinating, yet tragic, history of Cambodia before I went there. I will try to tell you a little bit about what I learned in my next few posts. If you want to learn more about Cambodia here are some good places to start-

Siem Reap
Siem Reap is a small city located in northwestern Cambodia. Siem Reap is a popular tourist destination because it is close to the ancient Khmer ruins of Anchor Wat.
