Grand Palace, Bangkok

I would entitle this photo "The King at the Grand Palace", but I think that you can get in serious trouble making King jokes in Thailand, so instead I will call it "Mark as a tourist".

The Grand Palace is one of the premier tourist attractions in Bangkok. They began building the palace in 1782 and it once served as the home for the King of Thailand. Pretty nice digs. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_Palace

Emerald Buddha
The Emerald Buddha, about 45 cm tall, is housed in the Temple of the Emerald Buddha located in the Grand Palace grounds. The statue, made out of green jasper rather than emerald, is clothed in gold (the particular outfit varies by season). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emerald_Buddha
