After dinner we took a cruise at night. The guide shown a powerful searchlight into the vegetation besides the river. We found many birds who had settled down for the night. The darkness definitely didn't help my picture taking, but here are a few shots. I am sorry that it was cloudy that night, because on a clear night I bet that you can see almost as many stars in Borneo as you can in West Texas.

We found a group of Long-tailed Macaques sleeping in the branches above the river. the guide said that they always sleep facing the shore so that they can detect potential predators. If they see a predator then they will drop into the river and swim to the other side.

A couple of kingfishers.

A night heron.
